spring

the spring is comming.

it is such an amazing transformation. 2 days of sun and the world is a better place.

Some time ago I had a meeting with ED.

Few final conclussions:

. Use the buildings as a geometrical, rythmic background.
. Ask the girls to ..style themselves..as as their fashion is the Antidotum for the Suroundings
. Test other films
. Test other compisitions
. Keep it consistant
. Use tripod - shotrter times
. Look at the positions for teh flying Idea
. Remember about the "looking down" when shooting up
. Look at other references to make sure the composiion is very carefully cosidered.

And I booked Hasselblad for the Spiring break :))

After spaking to ed i edited my pictures that i shot on film and tried to get the effect of the girs standing out from the background.
but im going to try different films now and than go back again for about 2,5 weeks in the easter time to shoooooot more!!!

A great success.
I learned how to make color prints in a darcrook.
With Nicolays help I mastered making contact sheets and than made some prints.

I do get scared in the derkroom by myself sometimes tho :(

after the polandia visit 1

Just got bck from Polandia where I managed to shoot 8 girls in 2 days in different locations spread across the city. It all went better than I expected...thanks to the TeaM :))

GO - my sis aka Ko- great help, great organizationa and actually a great producr and motivator for the models. nobody ever sang before to get my models to relax :)

SzCzO- my bro aka Klimek - such a patient driver, great assistant and shooting partner. he made it easyier for me to get the girls to take their jackets off ;)



and than the Girls themselves. Zaba, Dyka, Skulicz, Zuzia, Mierol, Herman, Rozalku no i Gogo we wlasnej osobie :))
Few words about them: Young, Fresh, Funky and Cooler than cold snow unerneath their feet and just very interesting personalities.

The rest of gave a lot support as well: fool, place to stay, car and most important good wOrd.

I took pictures on on a digital camera and hasselblad.


NOW: im back in UK
today I developed the films....and they were not blank :)))
now waiting to print them myslef on monday.
I want to learn how to print color pictures.

2mro polandia

Im going to polandia 2nite.
just have 3 days to shoot.
im quite nervous lets say.

even gotthe map with locations and timetable including my "Grandma" time
just to make surte i dont go crazy.

My new Poem:

My family:
Will help me with the models
Will help me with the locations
Will help me with the car
Will help me drive it

Im lucky like that :)

after last presentation when Ital, Kelly, Leila nd Ed agreed with me actually going to Polandia and starting shooting...I have bought tickets :) and next sunday im flying to the cold cold poland...there's so much snow there now ...i cant wait!!

and I have a new concepy.

the only part i didnt want to let go was the 15 young polish girls.
i asked myslef why and whats special about them.


and than it hit me...like a lightening..and than it all made sence..


"they all were born in 1989!!"

for all who dont know:
"June 4 – Solidarity's victory in Polish elections is the first of many anti-communist revolutions in Central and Eastern Europe in 1989."

They are the first really free generation.
They are the resoult of theyr parents happiness and excitement.
The fruit of revolution.
They have no burden, no baggage, no limits.
They are really free inside.
They are the future and the change.

Now they are 20 years old and they start to speak.
They can change the world and they are not afraid to change the rulez.

Freedom is like flying.
Flying is a symbol of freedom. Of having the power to go wherever one wants.
To break free. No limits.

So I decided I could take pictures of those girls born in 1989 flying threw the city.
The backgorund will be gray and they will be cororful.
